Valley West Wellness Fair Raffle Winners

Valley West Community Hospital kicked off summer fun with its Wellness Fair on Thursday, July 3.  An annual event, the KishHealth Wellness Fair is designed to share health, safety and wellness information with Sandwich and surrounding communities. The event focused on safety, environmental impacts and the health benefits of water.

Held in an extra large tent on the north side of the Valley West Community Hospital campus, the public had access to more than 50 vendors and exhibitors in the health and safety field. Vendors include the Centers for Foot & Ankle Surgery, Northern Illinois Weight Loss Center, Sandwich Chiropractic Clinic, Babies ‘R’ Us, Foxland Respiratory Consultants, Country Insurance, Waters Dental Group, the Visiting Nurses Association, Energetic Health, DeKalb and Kendall County Health Departments, Fox Valley Family YMCA, Voluntary Action Center, as well as many hospital departments and services.

The Wellness Fair featured activities and screenings for adults and children, including blood pressure screenings and body fat analysis, glucose finger sticks, cardiac risk assessments and hand washing demonstrations, eye and hearing screenings by the Lions Clubs of Sandwich and Somonauk, as well as bean bags, a small boat themed photo tent, face-painting, jump castle, petting zoo, and tours of the Air Angels helicopter.
